We saw the same...Really pleased you saw Ghost live. We saw the same tour. While it might be too dramatic to say I was breathless during the show, I was moving in that direction.

(Also, thanks for the heads-up on the metal-burger joint in Chicago. Will check that out next time I go there.)

Believe it's important (sic) to not dwell on the religious/satanism element of their presentation.

After another year's worth of casual observation, I am convinced these are cool & visionary guys. Their use of satanic theme represents shock value & a sense of self-irony. And what also appears to be an extraordinary 'not-give-a-fuck' sense of humor that is sophisticated (at least to my low standards).

I don't believe they were expecting the degree of positive reaction they've received. The positive reaction does not surprise me, as there is always a void for what I consider true 'heavy musik'. (To me this category largely includes hard rock & heavy metal, but also certain works from bands like Depeche Mode, Johnny Cash & Rick James).

In any event, their new album ("Meloria") is finally out, along with the usual associated meta-media. To me it is quite clear they are course-correcting & moving towards a more accessible sound/image.

All of which I applaud & encourage by transfer of $$. Typically I'm not a cutting edge music guy- I usually glom on to bands after more visionary folks like yourself publicize them. But with Ghost, I'm convinced they have the *potential* to be historic/international 'beeg' (big).

That said, I'm not sure the world in 2015 (or 2030) is going to widely embrace satanic themes, which openly persist in "Meloria", despite the more commercial sound. So I guess we'll see.

Relating back to your reply to me from long ago, thank you for sharing the imagery of the broom handle, vis-a-vis your wife. I fully endorse your domestic procedures & currently am searching for a broom suitably large enough for my old lady.

With fudge & plugs,
actuallythatsnotchocolateAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
